Chemical Sensitivity Testing Using the Clifford Reactivity Test

There’s no “one size fits all” when it comes to modern dentistry, whether working on a filling, crown or dental bridge. Dr. Gary Grablin uses the Clifford Reactivity Test to better understand if a patient might have a chemical sensitivity to any of the materials he might use in a dental treatment before beginning the treatment. The Clifford Materials Reactivity Testing (CMRT) is a comprehensive clinical blood test that screens for individual systemic sensitivity to bio-materials through antibody detection.

Manufactured materials, known as bio-materials, are found in virtually every application of dental restoration. Like fingerprints, biochemistries are individual, and the effects of exposure to modern bio-materials (and their reactive by-products) vary from person to person. Exposure that is benign to one individual may prove to be extremely harmful or toxic to another.

Only clinical testing and analysis of a patient’s unique immunological record can reveal if an adverse chemical reaction might occur. Clifford Reactivity Testing allows offending materials to be identified and reaction forecasts to be made. With this information at hand, Dr. Gary Grablin can make an informed decision about the best bio-material to use for each patient.
